The Lahore High Court has been informed by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) that the province is predicted to experience a severe heatwave the following week. It also stated that higher than expected temperatures are expected to be reached.

The Lahore High Court was alerted to an impending heatwave by a PDMA representative during a Friday hearing on petitions concerning smog and environmental pollution. According to the authority, this heatwave would be very strong.
Justice Shahid Karim expressed worry over the concerning heatwave prediction. The PDMA representative went on to say that trees and plants were suffering from the heatwaves.
The Central Business District (CBD) presented its legal team to the court with information that two rainwater storage tanks had been constructed. The necessity of implementing more steps to save rainwater was emphasized by Justice Shahid Karim.
In addition, he said that the market hours would be extended by the court prior to Eidul Azha, and an official order was anticipated at the following session. The next session was set for June 7 by the court.
