Honda Unveils New 2025 Civic Hybrid with Stylish Trim and Better Mileage
The 2025 Civic has been officially introduced by Honda, who has added a new look and a substantial powertrain update that should combine great performance and fuel efficiency. Two new hybrid grades have been added to the well-liked compact car, increasing its appeal to customers who value both performance and the environment.
The Civic lineup for 2025 will feature the new Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid trim levels. These new models include a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine that produces 200 horsepower and 314 Nm of torque in conjunction with a twin e-motor arrangement. Due to its superior torque over the Civic Si, the hybrid becomes the most potent non-Type-R Civic in the model’s history.

With the exception of the Si, Honda claims the hybrid models perform better than the now-canceled 1.5-liter turbocharged versions. The highly anticipated combined EPA mileage rating of the new hybrid is expected to be an astounding 21 km/liter, which is far higher than the most fuel-efficient 2024 Civic’s rating of 15 km/liter.
In addition, the hybrid models are the quietest Civics ever thanks to four levels of regenerative braking and a specifically adjusted suspension that improves ride comfort and lowers noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH).
The revised Civic has a few modest aesthetic changes that were teased earlier this year. Larger corner vents have been replaced by narrower vertical apertures and a somewhat larger grille on the front fascia.
Civics with hybrid trims have darker taillights, while all Civics have body-colored headlamp trim and a lip spoiler. Blue Lagoon Pearl, Sand Dune Pearl, Urban Gray Pearl, and Solar Silver Metallic are the new color possibilities.

The gray interior of the hybrid trimmings is elegant. With its larger 9-inch touchscreen screen, 12-speaker audio system, and leather seats, the Sport Touring Hybrid option is opulent. Furthermore, a first for the Civic lineup, Google built-in is introduced with this top-tier trim.
According to Lance Woelfer, assistant vice president of Honda National Auto Sales, “the new Civic hybrid is a perfectly-timed addition to the Honda lineup as hybrid-electric sales continue to grow, providing Honda with an important building block toward 100 percent zero-emission vehicle sales by 2040.”
In2023, sales of Honda hybrid-electric vehicles accounted for more than 25% of all brand sales. The exciting new Civic hybrid, which joins the Accord and CR-V hybrids as well as the all-electric Prologue in our popular electrified portfolio, is a terrific new product.
In June, 2025 Honda Civic sedans will go on sale at dealerships. Sedan and hatchback hybrid versions will be offered, but the 2.0-liter engine-powered LX and Sport non-electrified trims will remain accessible.
Pricing details will be announced later this year.
