Greece Arrests Pakistani Journalist over National Flag Incident
According to reports, Pakistani journalist Mona Khan was detained in Greece for “waving the Pakistani flag” while out on a hike.
A journalist for the state-run TV channel named Mona Khan was arrested in Greece for flying the Pakistani flag while traveling with her kid.
Her coach Muhammad Yousuf confirmed the event to ARY News, saying that she was detained by the Greek police, who also took her phone.

The coach went on to say that he spoke with Mona Khan an hour prior to her detention and she told him that she was being questioned by the police for flying the Pakistani flag.
Khan demanded that the Pakistani government step in to secure her release, alleging that the Greek police had mistreated her.
Her coach also urged the Pakistani authorities to take immediate action, claiming that Khan was flying a banner bearing the Kalma Tayyaba.
The anchor and marathon runner have granted the Pakistani government consular access, according to recent reports. The jail where Khan is being held was visited by representatives of the Pakistani embassy.
The spokesperson for the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, affirmed that Khan’s situation had been brought up with Greek authorities by the Pakistani embassy. Baloch said that the Greek authorities had been asked to grant Mona Khan consular access by the Pakistani embassy.
