Everton vs. Liverpool: The Derby Record “couldn’t be less interesting” to Jurgen Klopp
Everton vs. Liverpool: As Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp got ready for Saturday’s midday match against Everton, he received a “uncomfortable” reminder of his stellar record in the Merseyside rivalry.
Since joining the Reds in 2015, Klopp has only lost once in 17 games while winning ten of them against the Toffees.
Klopp replied.
“It is uncomfortable when you tell me about my record,” Klopp replied.
It is beyond my comprehension to care about the past. We are not considering this.
“We understand the importance of the game and the pressure,” he continued. I don’t recall ever finding the idea of a derby amusing.
Before a ball is kicked, there is a great deal of energy. It’s a unique game with a lot of pressure.
“Every player is accustomed to this type of game. The new players are prepared, so we shouldn’t make it too difficult for them.
Everton has advanced to 16th place in the standings after winning two of their last three games, while Liverpool is fourth with just one loss so far.
“Everton are in a good moment, for three or four weeks they’ve got results,” Klopp stated. “It is clear.”
Sean Dyche, the manager of Everton who once managed Burnley, has Klopp concerned about the opponents this weekend.
“Burnley in their best moments were a super difficult team to play and you can see again similar things,” Klopp stated.
Since1999
Since1999, Everton has only triumphed once at Anfield, a 2-0 victory in February 2021 in front of an empty stadium.
It’s a legitimate derby. I know of none larger than this one. Since I’m still learning a lot about this game, you ought to have the same depth about Everton, I remarked Dyche.
When Burnley defeated Liverpool in January 2021, the manager of the Toffees and Klopp got into a heated argument in the tunnel at halftime.
“Every manager ought to have enthusiasm for their work. I’ve never harboured a grudge or had a true falling out with a manager,” Dyche declared.
“All we want is what’s best for our teams. It’s acceptable to be passionate and dedicated to the cause.”
